Jennifer in admissions confirmed that Vandy would be calling this weekend, but I'm not sure if they are going to get to everyone or not. Letters will be in the mail this week for acceptance, waitlist, or rejection.

Have you all checked the 2005 acceptance thread? It seems that last year, Vandy called accepted candidates over a week's time...although quite a few people had certainly found out they'd been accepted by the 16th (a Saturday).

i do not know if this helps but my friend that i interviewed with on the same day got waitlisted today ( got a letter ) but we are TN residents. we actually live within a 20 mile radius of vandy. i am actually on the phone with her right now

Only the dean calls people, so it might just be whenever he wants to call. I sure wish he would call me.

Here's some words of inspiration (from my mom)....

You know youre a great applicant, you're completely dedicated and you'd be a great asset to the school.... if vandy doesn't see that, and you're not what they're looking for, there's something fundamentally wrong with them and you don't want to go there anyways!

I interviewed on Sept. 30th too! I called them on Friday to clear up a problem with my recs, and they said the usual processing time is about a month after the interview. So I guess we're in for at least a couple more weeks of waiting... Good luck!

If you haven't heard anything, hang in there. There's no way to know if Dean Helderman has made it all the way through the call list. You'll either get a letter this week letting you know definitively, or - if you don't get any letter - the adcom hasn't gotten to you yet.

Someone said he had a friend who received a waitlist letter on Saturday because they live 20 miles from Vandy, but someone else claimed all the letters were hitting the mail on Monday. Either way, looks like this week will see the mailman carrying a Vandy letter in his hand. Here's hoping that this particular mailman's brow drips plentifully with hard earned sweat due to the sheer size and weight of that fat Vandy envelope.

Actually -- from what i understood from the phone call, they call you, verify your address and then send the letter in the mail.

Apparently, Dean Helderman was signing my letter just as I called him back.

So you will get a call first and then the letter in the mail!
