how competitive is the vascular surgery fellowship? and are vascular surgeons out there finding that their procedures are being taken away by interventional radiologists, cardiologists, etc?

Its kind of middle of the road for competition (Plastics,Surg Onc., & Laparoscopy being the most competative). In point of fact, its the vascular surgeons who have been reclaiming the vascular suites from radiology in recent years for the interventional vascular business. Cardiology is just dabbling in the peripheral & cerebrovacular business presently, but is better positioned long-term to be the competitors with the surgeons
