So there is about 2 months left. That seems like alot of time but it really isnt. The highest score i ever recieved on kaplan verbal was a 9. At that time i had some hope and confidence. Then i switched to practicing on EK verbal. The highest score im getting is a 7. Many people say that the ek mimics the real aamc's well. I have yet to look at the recent aamcs. Well i tried the old aamcs from like the early 90's and they were very detail oriented. For people who have, what to you think of the comparison btween aamc and ek verbal? To me, kaplan is easier because everything is relatively more straightfoward. EK is very very vauge. The passages are longer as well. When i go over the ek answers i still really dont fully understand. If ek mimics the aamcs then im in deep trouble. Also practicing verbal is so draining. I cant do more than 3 a day and review answers thouroghly. It takes a long time for me to go over the answers. What do you guys think? How are you approaching it? What technique do you find successful?

when you're not doing verbal passages, be reading something challenging.

and you're on the right track. Going over your answers is soooo important to getting anwhere with practice VR. Not just reading the right answer, but reading why the others are wrong too. Know WHY they are right and wrong, the reasoning behind each one.

Give an AAMC practice one a go. They give a good indication. The latter ones though, 6R and 7 are fairly accurate.

i took my second kaplan diagnostic last saturday, and my VR score went down 2 points!!! (i am also using EK audio osmosis, and I am using their VR strategy)

after having freaked out for a bit, i went to the kaplan ctr and did 4 timed AAMC released passages, and i did much better than i did on kaplan. i surmise that the kaplan and EK passages are more difficult to scare you into doing more practice. also, they have good explanations, so just keep at it in terms of practice, but keep in mind that the better guage to your score is the AAMC tests.
