Sorry, don't really know what you mean by this. Could you explain?

Say, some kind of website or book that would give me various passages. Then I would have to find the main idea, maybe the mood of the author etc.

And then it would give me the answer somewhere in the answer book, to see if I was right. I think that would be a faster way maybe to grasp the whole main idea thing. Becasue when I read, I cant always grasp the main idea of the passage or what is the author talking about or what side he/she takes..

Ah I get you now.

Okay I don't know of anything on the web like that. But you could try going to the library and finding an old philosophy textbook. Usually what you'll find is an introduction that gives you a loose summary of what the philosopher said (sometimes this is at the end but in the two textbooks I have on hand it's at the beginning). You could skip that part, read the argument and then read the introduction to see if you got the idea. The caveat to this is philosophy can be hard to read on its own, especially if you're not used to it. Hopefully someone else will come along with a better idea.

Mind posting the titles of your books?

And if anyone else found some books helpful, mind posting their titles and authors?

Thanks a bunch.
Alex.
