I am studying to take the April MCAT but am having trouble with the verbal reasoning section. Can anyone who did pretty well on that section give me some advice and let me know how they prepared for it? Thanks

Main thing that helps in verbal is to read a lot. I know that this is hard to do during a normal semester, but make your best attempt to read a lot of different things. Also read things that aren't so interesting to you b/c the MCAT will have some pretty boring subjects that most of us could care less about. Practice the passages many times. I found that I had to take some of the techniques taught to me and mold them to my own specs. At first I was reading fast and getting through every passage, but not getting the majority of questions right. I learned to slow down and annotate a good bit. Read the questions first and make some keywords in your mind. After I did all that, I was usually getting thru about 7 of the passages but getting most of the questions right. I went from an 8 on my last diag to an 11 on the test, so... It worked pretty well for me. You will have to try some out for yourself though... Good luck.
