"an excess of vinyl lithium is added to 3-pentanone, producing Product B. If product B is then reacted under these conditions (1) O3, (2) (CH3)2, then how many carbonyls are present in the final product?"

(there's no picture for Product B.)

I know that 1 equivalent of vinyl lithium will attack the carbonyl, but what does an excess of it do?

What's the answer? Is it three?

And an excess of vinyl lithium just causes a sequential vinyl lithium to attack the "what used to be" carbonyl carbon.
