Are there any Canadians out there who are studying on something other than an I-20? If so, help! I'd really like to know what other options are available. Thanks all 🙂

Hey Sun,

Haven't looked into the visa thing yet but I'm curious on which school you settled on: CCOM or DMU? Have you also applied to Canadian schools?

Cheers,

I thought students get an F1 visa.
And from my understanding as long as you have the proper documents from Univesity and can demonstrate enough funds/source of funds for the first year of study it should be no problem. (an of course are in good standing when they do background check).

Oh yes, it is called an F1 student visa but the school give you an I-20. oops! 😳

This probably doesn't help, but I just got my Green Card and it's made my life a whole lot easier.

Why are you guys considering DO schools? Where are you going to practice when you get out?

Some plan to practicie in Canada. Some will probably sty in the states. Of course it will take 6-10 years to finish medical school + residency.

I personally like the DO phil and DO programs are the only medical school in that I applied to in the US. But I have applied to Canadian schools.

Greed card, eh? How'd you pull that one off?! 👍 Well, when I'm done and an official DO I could still practice in most of Canada - they passed new legislation 🙂

I'm still not sure!! ahhh 😱 And nope, I didn't apply to Canadian school. As much as I'd love to go home, I don't think I have what it takes to get in in Canada.
