I'm planning to visit the school I got waitlisted at to see if I can talk to one of the admission officers.
I only live a few hours away and have some spare time during the break.
Would it be rude to do this? Anyone has done the same before?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Kind of a neutral move, if not slightly a bad one. If you've kept in touch with adcoms over this cycle like you should have, they know you're interested in their school and they know you want to go there. Showing up in person, just for the sole reason of trying to get more attention speaking to an officer (which they most likely don't have time for), reeks of desperation - especially since admission officers and adcom faculty members typically are not permitted to speak to selected interviewees during the cycle period (counseling is offered after the cycle ends in the spring for next cycle).

I wouldn't do it. Continuing emailing, making a letter of intent, to show interest.

I suggest emailing them about it first.

I strongly advise against this.
