have predents listed volunteer work at the hospital as a form of community service?

or do admissions officers see hospital work as a sign that you're commited to medicine and not dentistry?

any advice is appreciated because i don't want admissions officers to think that i'm interested in medicine if i volunteer at the hospital

You could also ask the faculty practice at dental schools if they take volunteers.

What a bunch of hogwash! I am so glad my dental school based its admisssions solely on grades and DAT scores. I don't see how volunteering at a hospital can make you a better candidate for dental school.

If you do volunteer work, you do it because you sincerely have pleasure doing it. I used to do volunteer work with Down Syndrome kids and at a senior's home in my late teens. I am presently done with dental school and even so, I have intentions of volunteering at a local children's hospital, reading stories, not because it looks good on my CV but because I want to.
