My local hospital has a Birthing center where i will be volunteering soon. What kinds of things might I expect to do here? It is kind of a special gig, as I am doing this through the director of the center rather than the general volunteer director (who is an incompetent intern), so I may have a bit more freedom than a traditional volunteer, but I know certain laws and precautions still apply.
What should I expect to do? Will I gain any hands on experience?
Thanks for your help!

Realistically, no. There's plenty of women who refuse to even let medical students in the room. You'll prob get to watch some SVDs and if they have an OR maybe watch some
C-sections. Prepare to see some goop.

Seeing goop would be awesome! Haha I'm just so excited to get into a real hospital. Thanks for the info!
