Know what you're getting into guys. Be prepared to pursue other field of pharmacy like ambulatory care and hospital. I never thought i'll see WAGs do this. Kroger started this week and now WAGS are changing stores to either 9-9 or cutting 9-9 stores down to only 1 full time Pharmacy manager and less than 40 hours for staff. This is not looking good.

Wow. Definitely not looking good. Hopefully this doesn't happen to Osco

It is also very hard to land a job in hospital setting unless you have residency. Even if you do residency, at some areas, it's extremely competitive to get in hospital also. Hospital jobs are only around 20-25% of the majority job pool. So good luck!

If there is a demand for round the clock open your own.

I’m just a tech but most stores in CT seem to be going 9 to 9. Half the stores in my district are 9 to 9. Tech hours have been cut drastically at my store and we have floaters from NY and MA driving 1-2 hours each way for a 6 to 8 hour shift.

Most of the state’s biggest employers have Caremark or Aetna as prescription carriers so that’s a huge obstacle to overcome. It’s honestly pretty dire and I’m happy to be leaving for UofM.

With the cuts in pharmacy and record number of graduates each year competing for the limited available spots, you really need to rethink whether it is worth the risk to sacrifice $200k+ in loans and 4 years of your life in school.

"That's just your district and you're probably lying or not a very good employee! It wont happen to me! I'll be the bestest pharmacist student ever and will network 24/7 and do 3 years of residency so I will be working alongside doctors who will value and listen to my expertise while making over 100k! Pharmacy is what I was born to do!"

    future incoming pharmacy student ;)
