Waitlist C/O 2029 Hopefuls!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Has anyone heard anything about when the OOS waitlist might start moving for Auburn or Illinois, or have they already? I'm anxious now since the April 15th deadline has passed and I still haven't heard anything 😬

Does anyone know how many spots the OOS waitlist typically moves for U of A?

For those that have been pulled from the waitlist, did the notification say how long you had to accept the offer/submit the seat deposit? I'm still waitlisted but I've moved up on my IS school alternate list and the waiting game is brutal

I think it very much depends on the school- I know CSU was giving two business days to reply with a decision, while Mizzou was giving up to a week after notification.

This isn’t waitlist related but I was wondering if anyone knows how to fix this - every time I use SDN now I get the craziest most persistent pop up ads, like genuinely every 5 seconds my screen changes to a weird ad lol. Anyone know a fix?

There aren't any ads on this platform; the issue is likely your phone or computer. Reinstall the app/browser, update your OS, run an anti-virus software, and if that doesn't work, take it to a device repair store to check for malware.

It's just safari on my iPhone tho 😭 The mobile site definitely has ads on it but I'll see if I can block it somehow

any movement on lists as of late?
idk if you mean any lists but im seeing LSU has been having system updates which we presume is offers being sent - last one was yesterday afternoon (Wednesday @ 3:54 pm)

I called admissions to clarify (again lol) and they said it updates every time there is a change to the class. (Someone withdraws, someone accepts, someone is offered a seat, someone denies their seat, etc)

LSU and Midwestern waitlists - still waiting to hear back from UGA, Auburn, and KSU so hopefully I'm accepted to one of those! If not, here's hoping that I get taken off the waitlist at one of those!
Edit 1/31: Waitlisted at KSU as well
Update 5/26: I was just offered an OOS seat at LSU today! For those still waiting or looking back on this thread in the future, it's tough not hearing anything within a couple weeks of the decision deadline, but just know that it can happen at any point!

UGA! I loved the school and received a big scholarship!
Do you have any recommendations where to apply for scholarships? I've looked and not had any luck finding anything, and of course grants do not seem to qualify since it's for school beyond bachelors. Feel free to PM me.

Many scholarships will be school-specific and require applying through an internal portal after acceptance. Some are allotted along with an admissions offer.
There may be external scholarship out there but I'm not aware of any.

Agree with Apoptosis (love the name BTW) - I didn’t really find anything external that wasn’t highly specific (“SOCIETY OF NEW JERSEY CATTLE COWBOYS WITH RED BANDANAS”) or so small it wasn’t really worth it (“$250 FOR YOUR 40-PAGE THESIS ON NUCLEAR FISSION”).

I think most scholarships given out to first years are recruitment scholarships. Typically, you’ll be offered the scholarship before decisions are due - not all schools give recruitment scholarships, but the ones that do will make it easy to be considered- I know that for UMN, there was a place on your interview confirmation form to say you wanted to be considered for scholarships. I wrote a paragraph about my interests and goals, and about a month after my acceptance I was notified that I’d been given a scholarship.

I know that UMN, Ohio State, and UPenn all give recruitment scholarships. Others will give scholarships but you still have to fill out your FAFSA or apply over the summer. Some don’t give any first-year scholarships. It’s okay to email and ask school admissions officers for more information about their application and admission process, including what type of scholarships are available! I did this and it helped me narrow down my school list. 🙂
