I am sure some people will drop by that time it really depends where you are on the list. You can always call to see where you rank and what your chances are of being pulled off. The Sec. also said that I have a good chance but made no promises

I think I have been dropped from a waitlist!!! Hopefully I will know by the end of the day if this is the case. Has anyone heard of such a thing happening!?!?

most wait-lists will not move until mid-May, when we are all required to pick one school and decline acceptances from the rest. until then, most openings will go to the people who are interviewing now.

swampman:

what did you think of evms?

and to tie this into the topic...i got my waitlist letter from evms on saturday. i called this morning and was told that i am in the middle third. i'm about ready to put evms to bed already...no norfolk for me...

Really depends on the school. But keep this in mind, waitlists don't move until after the May 15th deadline when everyone can only keep one school. So, I guess not until May 15th.

I know Miami doesn't reject anyone post-interview until the very end. Everyone is either accepted or waitlisted post-interview. USF will probably sit tight until after the big dawg in the state (UF) makes their move. It was probably just a mix-up. I'm pulling for ya, hope it all works out!

Well, it's official. I have been dropped from the USF waitlist. After having interviewed more applicants, it "became apparent" that I would not be offered a seat. In an attempt to provide closure, they decided to pass the word along. I knew my student interview went poorly! Oh well, at least I don't have to buy a laptop now.

I must be the biggest loser on earth!

ssd: EVMS was great! Much better than Albany, in my opinion. I got a small community vibe (where everyone liked one another), which pleased me.

I was pretty straightforward with them about financial issues. I told them that I have an acceptance from a school whose tuition is only $8,000 a year. I let them know that they would have to lower their tuition to about $15,000-$17,000 to even compete (it's currently $29,000 for out of staters, as you know). It was a bold move, but they may consider it. A scholarship wouldn't be unheard of, would it?!? If they can lower the tuition for me, I'd be happy to attend. If not, I've got an awesome place that has accepted me.

My EVMS interview was my best yet! I'm waiting anxiously for news in a couple weeks. It's cool that they tell you your placement on the waitlist. USF didn't do that...probably because they didn't want to tell me I was dead last.
