Hey guys I got my first letter from a M.D. school today of any good news telling my I am on the waitiling list. i know people dont hear things till after May 15th really, and someone told me that last year all of the students at the school got in off the waitlist was wondering if that was true and if anyone else is in this boat with me too.

thanks guys and good luck !!!1:clap:

Hey! I called njms to ask about my status on the waitlist, and they told me to email dean heinrige. He told me that i was high on the list, but the list doesn't really move. so basically, i don't have a chance. It couldn't hurt to email him - the address is on the faculty/staff part of the umdnj website

that surprises me that he said that the waitlist doesn't move that much... i'd honestly think that the waitlist at any state school would see considerable movement, since many instaters feel obligated to apply, but then wind up going to private schools. i don't know -- i think you guys on the waitlist (especially the high waitlist, or whatever) probably have a decent shot. i'm guessing there'll be a bunch of withdrawals at some point.
in any case, good luck. i think it's an awesome school.

Oh really, I was under the impression that it really does move, oh well I am already in UNECOM.

hi!

i just withdrew my acceptance from NJMS (sent the letter out this morning). it's a great school, and my very first acceptance, so it will always have a special place in my heart.
anyway, the waitlist should be moving at least 1 spot now! good luck!!!

lol thanks, ok anymore people rejecting them !!!!

is njms still interviewing? i'm just curious as to whether or not the places that are given up now are just going to be filled by new interviewees or if they'll go to people on the waitlist.

I know one of the interviewers at NJMS. Who interviewed you guys at NJMS? What are your scores and GPA?

Last year they had to interview a bunch of people at the very end of the game... just before classes started I think. MANY people withdrew in the last minute last year.

I was waitlisted at NJMS last year and I was told that the waitlist HARDLY moves. You have better luck on the RWJ list. Email the dean, he will tell it to you like it is...he basically told me that I was no where near the top and to retake the mcat and try to get a better score. I was heartbroken but hey, at least he was being honest and wasn't trying to sell me false hopes.

I had my NJMS interview last week. And as I'm told, this week, they're done with their interview season.

thanks for the help guys I guess Ill just go email the director and ask him myself.

I take it that the reason the waitlist might not move much is because those students they accept and who eventually matriculate have good reason to want to attend the school. I've noticed that most NJ residents want to go there and there only. In my case, I'm from Florida but I'm originally from the area and have family there, so unless some ivy league school took me, I would have a hard time turning it down. It's was pretty much my first choice of all the "realistic" schools I applied to. Ant, I wish you the best and that you get that call too....best feeling in the world. Oh and his name is Dr. Heinrich so don't use the spelling used by a previous post here when you email him. lol

Hey!

I thought his name was Dr. Heinrich, however, this is his email (cut and pasted from his email response to me) Oh . . . I get it now - the ge are from his first name ... sometimes i'm not that quick.

[email protected] (George F. Heinrich, M.D.)

I don't want to be a downer, but just be wary....I was on the waitlist for a whopping eight months last year, never getting in. As a side note, I was/am a resident of NY, so maybe that played a factor. BEST OF LUCK.

I'm not "officially" in a NJMS but I was told in the interview that I would be let in & if I wasn't serious about NJMS to let them know right away so they could pass along my spot. I am waiting for the official letter but I will also be declining my spot there.
It is a good school with an excellent commitment to the community - my cousin graduated from there 3 years ago & really enjoyed her time there.

Good luck to all.

i've been in contact with dr. heinrich and he told me to keep in touch and that i'm on the upper part of the list. i'm hoping there's some movement... he said that they'll start accepting from the waitlist at the end of may/early june at the earliest so hopefully things will start moving this week.

anyone else hear anything? i know there's this accepted student lucheon on the 30th that others have mentioned in another thread. i wish i was invited!!!🙁

I got a similar response. I am on the waitlist and was told I was on the higher part of the list. He said it was to soon to tell but to keep in contact. That was two weeks ago and I'm waiting till 3-4 weeks to ask for my status again. Hopefully I'll hear good news soon.
