What will you do if not accepted? What plans are you considering for
fall 2004 if things don't work out this year? Jobs? Grad school? Join
the circus? 🙂 etc.

Drexel will accept me off their waitlist once they realize that i will ace all their exams. Should that not happen, then i'll continue working in my research lab for the next two years, getting several posters and papers published. I'll take the April mcat and ace it (lol).

Volunteer and Research...hopefully that will finally lead me to the promised land...ha. Also, thinking of taking August MCAT just to raise my physical science score, but some admissions officials think it is unnecessary.

Thanks for making this thread. I'm very interested in what other people are doing...

As of now, my plans are to get an EMT certification and do something with it. I'm also going to start looking around for a research position, though I really have no idea where to even begin. And I'll probably volunteer my services for something or other; I think it might be fun to coach a little league sports team. Though, once again, I have no idea where to begin on that front either.

Are most of you reapplying in this cycle? Or are you going to take a couple years? My thought is that I'd rather take the two years and really strengthen my app, rather than have to possibly suffer this process THREE times. My app is really no better now than it was a year ago.

I feel the same way as you MAbdulD. If I reapply for 2005 my application will be virtually the same as it was this past year. If my last waitlist doesn't pan out I plan on attending the Georgetown SMP beginning this August. I think I will most likely reapply for the class of 2006. That will give me enough time to finish GTown and to participate in more meaningful volunteer work. I'll probably end up trying to find a job in a research lab during the year off. By that time, I'll probably need some time off anyway. I envision myself being very burnt out.

Best of luck everyone.

I still hold out hope that something may still happen. The hope ain't dying until school starts, dang it! If nothing goes for me, then my plan is to reapply AMCAS 2005, and keep working in my research lab, and get emt certified.

Hey dude, if you are going to G'town then you should definitely apply for 2005 because they will do everything they can to help you out this cycle by updating med schools, etc. It could tip the balance. And you might get into G'town SOM if that would interest you. I would say to try again this year and I'll bet the SMP will be what tips the balance from waitlist to acceptance. 👍 Although I hope you get in off your waitlist anyway and don't have to worry about it... that would also mean a spot for me in the SMP 😀
