I dont think I've seen a name in my inbox for months that made me happier than Eric Lombard today!!

Just sent an update on Friday and he personally emailed me thanking me for the update! Ah, what the hell, I'll let you guys get a peak. Afterall, you're family

-what I've done outside of classes the past 6 months
-what talks/conferences I plan to give/attend, other projected summer plans.
-letter of rec for an award (OSA) I was nominated for by a past recipient

I too am going to send an update for UCSD as I still have not heard from them. Did you send your update via email or letter? Which would be better you think? I'm considering both..

how about a tragic life changing event? i had the honor of trying to save a young man's life (i'm a volunteer EMT). he didn't make it, and it has had a profound impact on my continued desire to attend medical school.

How soon after getting the waitlist did you send out an update?

waitlisted back in December. The letter said they wont review us 'waited' folks until March, so I didn't send the letter til March. Besides, it gave me time to accumulate more activities to update and whatnot.
