Hey guys, I was wondering if it was possible to get medical schools to waive a single undergraduate required class after an applicant is accepted to medical school. Have you guys ever heard of this happen? What would be the best way to approach this situation? For example waiving a biology or physics course if you did well in the respective biological sciences or physical sciences portion of the MCAT.

I don't think they would waive a course based on MCAT. Maybe because you had AP credit or your university only has chem lab for chem 1, not chem 2...something like that. What's your specific situation?

from what i know, it's a pretty rare event for a school to waive a requirement. if worst comes to worst, you may have to take the class in the summer before you matriculate.

Most schools' acceptances are contigent upon completing all required coursework/degree requirements. The MCAT can't test ALL your knowledge, so they probably want to see that you've at least seen the basics, which you should probably want to have before you start medical school anyway. But like others have said, I don't know your particular situation.

No... they are called prerequisites for a reason.

I was able to waive a pre-req. Apparently one of the courses I took satisfied 2 of the pre-reqs.
