Date of submission: Planning on submitting June 1st for next cycle
Overall GPA: 3.58
Science GPA: 3.37
DAT score (include AA and all sections): 21AA 21TS 22OC 20GC 21B 21RC 22QR 18PA
State of Residence: Illinois

Major: Biology
Minority? No
Reapplicant? No
Nontrad? No

Shadowing Experience: 150 hours general dentist
Volunteering Experience: 120 hours animal shelter
Employment: 1500+ hours orthodontic assistant
Research: none
Other Extracurriculars: none
Relevant Honors or Awards: Honor’s List
LOR type and strength: Orthodontist/boss (strong), Advisor/professor (strong)
Misc Info/Things not stated elsewhere/Red Flags: One thing I was worried about is how big of a concern my PAT score would be considering I got a 18 and I know schools look for a 20+. Also, my grades are on an upwards trajectory as I obtained a 3.97 GPA my previous semester. A second thing I was curious about is my job experience. I’ve been told that schools tend to prefer work in general dentistry rather than in specialties, so I was curious as to how my experience would be viewed as I have been working with patients part-time for about 2 years.

School list:
Midwestern University
University of Illinois at Chicago
Southern Illinois University
Indiana University
University of Michicgan
University of Detroit Mercy
Marquette
University of Minnesota
Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine
Nova Southeastern University

don't worry about the 18 PAT
i'd look at adding 3-5 more schools
i don't understand why LECOM and NOVA are on the list...

How many letters do you have? Just two? You’re gonna need at least one more science prof unless you’re using a committee. Also agree with the above. Schools look for higher PAT but the 18 shouldn’t be detrimental to your app. Yes, get rid of the Florida schools. Throw in UBuffalo and Case western instead and a few more, maybe Creighton.
