Hi! I am applying in the 2017-2018 and am struggling to determine what schools are within my range based on my stats and ECs.

Graduated w/ Biomedical Engineering degree from a top public university. Currently working for a Top 4 consulting firm. Strong PS and life story.

Live in VA. AA Woman.

Stats: 3.63 cGPA/~3.6sGPA, 502 MCAT after 2 retakes (21, 23) -- misleading thread title, won't let me fix

My ECs:
TA for calculus/probability/stats class (3 years)
Peer Mentor (3 years) -- received certification
Leadership in honors frat (100 h)
Clinical Volunteering (400 h), leadership within program (100 h)
NIH internship (one pub as co-author, two other awards, 400+ h)
Senior Year Thesis
Senior Year Capstone (symposium, awards from competitions, 500 h+)
Free clinic coordinator (40 h)
Non-clinical based volunteerism & leadership - work organizations (50 h)
Shadowing (60 h - 3 specialties)

Any guidance on school selection would be great!

Thank you!

Your non-clinical volunteering is week but you will get plenty of interviews and acceptances if everything else check outs. You wont get any luck from the top schools (mayo, columbia etc) but mid teir schools like tufts, Albert Eisenstein etc and low tier schools will interview you and accept you. Apply to 20-25 schools as well as HBCU and you will have a good cycle

Thank you! And do you recommend a safe number of MD & DO programs to apply to with two MCAT retakes? Was thinking 30 MD and 2/3 DO. Also, the Philly Triplets are Drexel, TJ, and Temple, correct?

25 schools should suffice
