Hey guys, I'm looking for some advice on my schools list. I'm mostly looking for MD, but considering applying to 5 or so DO's.

Year in School: Junior (Graduate Spring of 2018)
Major: Biological Engineering
State of Residence: Utah

cGPA: 3.73
sGPA: 3.86
MCAT: 508 (127/128/127/126)

80 hours in class project
120 hours on ongoing Design project
All 3 experiences are in biomedical research

Non-clinical volunteer: Teaching Assistant/ Tutor - 200 hours
Local Science Fair Organization Committee - 65 hours
Charity construction - 100 hours
Volunteer with Planned Parenthood - 50 hours

Leadership: Pre-Med Club leader - 250 hours (Listed in leadership)

Here's my current MD schools list:

Mayo Clinic SOM
Saint Louis University SOM
University of Vermont COM
Drexel University COM
Creighton University SOM
Medical College of Wisconsin (With LOR from alumni who served on admissions committee)
Loma Linda University SOM
University of Utah (in-state with significant LOR)
New York Medical College
Uniformed Services University
U of Arizona - Phoenix
U of Arizona - Tuscon
UCLA
Cooper
Meharry
UT Southwestern
UT Medical @ Galveston
McGovern
UT SOM @ San Antonio
UT Austin Dell
UT Rio Grande
Texas A&M
Texas Tech

And the few DO's I've looked at:

UNT HSC-Texas
AT Still - Kirksville
Kansas City University (They've admitted a lot of Utah residents and alumni of my undergrad institution recently)
Rocky Vista - Utah (They prefer in-state despite being private)

Any schools you guys recommend I trim or add to this list? My MD list is a little long, I'm looking at trimming both LSU's and U of Wisconsin, but I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks!!

Have you looked at the MSAR? Most of your list is made up of schools that take very few OOS. For example schools in Texas are required by law to take 90% from Texas!

@Toutie, updated list. I'm keeping the Texas schools because I've been advised I'd be a good candidate by my pre-med advisor and there's no fee for adding more Texas schools.

Well maybe your pre-med advisor knows something I don't. Maybe applicants from your undergrad have had success in Texas in the past? If you could, please come back in here after your cycle is complete and let us know how you fared in Texas. It would help us guide others in the future.
