Most of these secondaries were submitted back in July, but do I need to last-minute add any more schools? A lot of anxiety is creeping in, and I am totally second-guessing myself. I am really proud of my personal statement and essays and have had all of them reviewed by multiple people, including my advisor who was head of a med school admissions board for 20+ years. Are there too many reaches on my list? Getting rejected by Belmont already was a punch to the gut and it sent me into a spiral this past week, and I don't want to lose faith in myself but it's really hard when I know people who have had higher stats/stronger ECs only get into one school

How many hours do you have in the homeless shelter dining hall ? Schools such as Einstein, Boston University, USC, OSU, USF are unrealistic with your MCAT of 511. USC Greenville admits few non residents with no connection to the state.

300+ total hours but most were completed in high school and it has been sporadic in college since I haven't really been home anymore for breaks. But a lot of my favorite encounters have been there and it's really opened my eyes to the homelessness crisis in Phoenix, and so I have a lot of great stories I've pulled from. I tried to apply to a range of schools that met my stats but also some where I just really personally aligned with the school's mission.

We only have your WAMC profile and not your AMCAS, so we are limited to knowing your real chances. I'll trust the feedback you received, but I think you will get attention from the schools closest to where you live/grew up. Because you conflated your high school and college hours in your activities profile above, it makes me rethink about what activities will count more in evaluating where you are now as opposed to your journey up to college.

"Ongoing" hours to me said you only just started in that activity, not that you had banked 300 hours in high school and sporadically help out when returning from college (?). In your AMCAS application, I would filter out considering your high school hours. What are we left with?

You have many leadership/fundraising activities... many related to a strong involvement in athletics.

So I'm back to service orientation: what activities allow you to find community with those with limited resources and unlike you? It seems the population you have much experience with are those with disabilities mostly.

As it relates to Belmont, is it possible they think you have them as your top choice school? Again, I think you have shown strong involvement back with your community near Arizona. Would you really want to move to Nashville and serve their populations that are in need? Do you have a strong understanding of their needs? The profile doesn't help me there, but if it were me, I am thinking "we're not high on her list" because there is not enough in the initial application to show a true mission fit and connection. So as they say on "Chopped," that's (likely) why we chopped you.

Ahhhh I did not conflate high school with college hours! All the numeric hours listed are from college. I didn't even include my homeless center volunteering in AMCAS but have talked about experiences from there in my secondaries. I am currently volunteering at the local homeless shelter in the state I'm in now so that's a part of the "what are you doing this year" prompt responses/updates. Sorry for that miscommunication and thank you for the response! And yes, I honestly would love to live in Nashville and serve the community there. Their mission aligns a lot with mine because they state they seek to include a "whole-person approach" and value humility and service. I attended a Catholic undergrad and liked that Belmont shared this spirit of compassion on their campus. Those values are apparent in my AMCAS descriptions and personal statement (so I've been told), but I won't really have chance to convey specifics to Belmont without a secondary! Oh well, I guess it is what it is at this point
