Curious what my chances for interviews are and if I should add schools this late in the game.

GPA: 3.91 cGPA, 3.98 sGPA (Biology Major)
Biology class prerequisites taken at CC; the rest at state university
MCAT: 512 (127,125,129,131)
Clinical Experience: 8 years working at a non-profit hospital: 3000 hours as a trauma Technician in the ER and 7000 hours as a lab assistant in clinical lab.
Clinical Volunteering: 3 medical missions to the Dominican Republic supporting the delivery of primary care: 750 hours
Non-clinical volunteering: Teach English as a second language to immigrants (200 hours), taught bicycle mechanics to children (150 hours)
Shadowing: None
Research: None
State of Residence: Colorado but grew up in Maine
LOR: Likely weak from my science professors but stronger from the doctors that I work with
Relevant Honors: Deans List for multiple semesters, recognized by University for academic achievement
Other:
White male
I do have a misdemeanor from 15 years ago.

School List: I prefer MD, finished secondaries for most by first week in August

Albany Medical College
Drexel
Quinnipiac
George Washington
NYMC
OHSU
Pennsylvania State
Vermont
Tufts
Tulane
CUSOM
University of Washington
University of Wisconsin
VCU
Wake Forest

DO:

Your feedback is appreciated.

Your feedback is appreciated.
U WA was a donation; they only take WWAMI residents; ditto OHSU. I can't recommend Penn State

Suggest adding more schools. I recommend:
Rochester (maybe)
UCF (maybe)
U ILL
NYU-LI
Pitt (maybe)
Hofstra
Dartmouth
Emory
Miami
St. Louis
Albany
Rush
Rosy Franklin
Wayne State
MCW
VCU
EVMS
Wake Forest
Jefferson
Temple
Creighton
Georgetown
Loyola
Oakland-B
Western MI
Seton Hall
Nova MD
TCU/UNT
Uniformed Services University/Hebert (just be aware of the military service commitment)

Any DO program. Consider PCOM and Touro-NY, maybe VCOM too
I can't recommend Nova, Wm Carey, BCOM, ICOM and LUCOM, for different reasons. MSUCOM? Read up on Larry Nasser and you decide. LMU has an accreditation warning, which concerns me. CUHS is too new and appears to be too limited in rotations sites. UIW refuses to post their Boards scores, which is fishy.

Not too late to add schools to AMCAS with a reasonable ROI?

Nope, not too late at all
Thank you!
Quick question: if the lowest score of the range for an MCAT section (CARS) in the MSAR is 126 and I have a 125, should I bother applying there? This is the case with Brown and Dartmouth.
Thanks again.

I can't recommend Brown as they highly favor their own UGs. Dartmouth may be a crapshoot, but someone has to be in the 10th %ile...why not you?

Couple of questions: is St. Louis a mistake? Seems far too competitive for me. Also, why NYU-LI given that there are only 10 out of state matriculants?
Thank you!

NYU, being private, doesn't have an IS bias. It's just that there are a lot of talented NYers. i should know I went to school with their parents! They also have 14 IS students, BTW.

No, SLU is not a mistake. Your states are almost at their median.

How come you can’t recommend ICOM? Too new I’m guesssing.

ICOM: Not recommended due to the apparent dishonesty they had in setting up their school that poisoned the relations with hospitals in Idaho and/or the Idaho Medical Association. In addition, most of their rotation sites are very far away from the school. This raises the risk that the rotations are not adequately supervised and preceptors are not fully trained in teaching.

Thank you. any thoughts on LECOM?

I’m looking for feedback. Due to financial/time constraints, I kept my original list and did not add more schools. I’ve been put on hold by a number of schools (Tulane, GWU, Drexel, NYMC), some have already sent my a rejection email, and I’ve had two interviews: one at CU ( my top choice but they rejected me), and one at LECOM (placed on wait list). Where do I go from here? I feel a bit discouraged by this whole process. My intuition is to improve my application by getting extensive shadowing hours and perhaps getting some research experience, and then applying again. I’m also probably going to apply to paramedic school. This cycle, I’d apply to around 30 MD and 10 DO schools this next cycle. I’d appreciate any advice.

Apply more broadly to DO schools and I suggest these:
RVUCOM
AZCOM
TUNCOM
DMU-COM
ATSU-KCOM
KCU-COM
MU-COM
CUSOM
LECOM (all schools)
UNECOM
Touro-NY
ACOM
For MD schools I suggest these:
Colorado
Vermont
Quinnipiac
Albany
New York Medical College
Seton Hall
Drexel
Temple
Jefferson
George Washington
Georgetown
Virginia Commonwealth
Eastern Virginia
Wake Forest
NOVA MD
Miami
Tulane
TCU-UNT
Creighton
St. Louis
Loyola
Rush
Medical College Wisconsin
Oakland Beaumont

Wayne State
