How long have you lived in your resident state? How many in- state seats exist?

Describe your advocacy and community service (nonclinical). How are your associated with the community you are supporting in your advocacy?

Born and raised in my resident state - avg mcat is 511 and gpa is like 3.8. 150 seats
my advocacy involves running support groups, creating resources featured on the website of this organization as well as planning an annual 5k which has become a pretty big deal over the last few years. I am a part of the group bc I have suffered from the same impairment when I was a child, (which actually led me to medicine)

Your non-clinical volunteering is at about the minimum threshold. It will hold you back at service-heavy schools, especially Rush, which is where your stats are most competitive for. Schools like Wisconsin and Iowa have much higher median stats and and UConn takes very few OOS students.

I suggest:

Your state school
PSU
Tulane
Wake
Quinnipiac
Rosalind Franklin
Tufts
Wayne State
Oakland
MCW
Hackensack
NYMC
Albany
Vermont
Drexel
Temple
Jefferson Kimmel
George Washington
Nova Southeastern
Belmont
UIC (high tuition FYI)
Any new MD schools that open (eg Alice Walton)
