Wondering if my list is too top-heavy, my main concerns are the mediocre sGPA and absence of non-clinical volunteering. Upward trend with straight A's since sophomore year.

ORM/male/Iowa resident/large midwestern state school

ECs:

Research - 1600 hours in a lab studying diabetes over 3 years, 1 mid-author pub and 2 posters

Volunteering - 240 hours in emergency department

Clinical - 1200 hours as a nursing assistant and cardiac telemetry monitoring tech in local hospital

Leadership - ~100 hours as a student ambassador in an undergrad research engagement initiative
- 75 as cofounder and safety officer of a sports club

Shadowing - around 20 hours shadowing 3 doctors, other opportunities were cancelled d/t Covid

Misc: - 215 hours working as overnight valet parking attendant
- General Honors, Honors in Biology, Biology Honors Thesis
- Certificate in Clinical and Translational Sciences
- Phi Beta Kappa

tentative list:

Iowa
Ohio State
Minnesota
Case Western
Duke
Vanderbilt
Pitt
Emory
Virginia
Michigan
Wisconsin
WashU
Harvard
UCLA
UPenn
Baylor

Other comment. 3.70 sGPA is not mediocre. You definitely should be invited by your in-state and a few publics in neighboring states that would be friendly to Iowa residents. I always will advise people to pay attention to OOS statistics for other public schools.

You could add any of these schools to your application:
Northwestern
U Chicago
Mayo (both schools)
NYU
Columbia
Cornell
Mount Sinai
UCSF
