Hi everyone!

This will be my second time applying, I would appreciate any advice to help make me a better applicant! I've got a list of 8 schools I'm interested in but my top schools are Washington State University (IS), Colorado, and University of Wisconsin.

Cumulative GPA: 3.51 majored in Animal Science, minored in Spanish
after graduating I took Physics 1 and physics 2 (A in both) and genetics (B), these classes are not included in my GPA

Science GPA: 3.39

Last 45 credits GPA: 3.85

Research Experience:
about 350 hours at the moment, but will increase to about 400 when applications are due (research involving horses)

Veterinary Experience:
about 205 hours at the moment, expect to gain around 400 more hours with a equine veterinarian before applications are due
  • 30 hours shadowing a mobile equine veterinarian
  • 55 hours shadowing veterinarians that come that come to the farm for colic, choke episodes, punctures, placing jugular catheters, and more
  • 60 hours shadowing small animal veterinarians
  • 12 hours shadowing a zoo veterinarian
  • 50 hours shadowing small and large animal chiropractic veterinarian
Animal Experience
  • 2600 hours for equine internship
  • 58 hours volunteering at horse rescue/sanctuary
  • 300 hours at a dog groomers
  • 575 hours on equestrian team
Non-animal employment: 900 hours in a warehouse

Volunteering: 140 hours total for various fundraisers and organizations

Achievements: Dean's list twice, two different scholarships from my undergrad school

Extracurriculars:
  • Intramural soccer, volleyball, and softball teams
  • high school band
  • playing piano
  • Hiking and snow skiing
