My experience is pretty solidly in wildlife work. I am studying wildlife science and most of my jobs have been working in conservation, research, and rehabilitation of birds, herps, and (recently) deer. However, I've known since the beginning that I want to pursue vet school and I have tried to make sure that I have some vet experience as well. I've heard from many people that wildlife vet is kind of an impossible job but I'm going to try my darndest to get there anyways (within what's realistic). I think vet hours are probably the weak point of my application so I'm hoping to start shadowing this upcoming fall and rack up more hours. I would love some advice on what parts of my applications to work on since I still have a year until I apply. Also would like honest advice on whether I'm a competitive applicant or whether I should delay applying for a year. Thank you!!
