Thank you so much for the quick reply! Would you suggest that I take away any of the schools on my current list? And if I did want to apply to any of the T5 schools, would I have a chance or would it be a complete waste of an application fee?

SUNY Stony Brook accepts few non residents with no connection to the state. You could try T5 schools if you wish.
