You have many state public schools on your list that admit few non residents with a MCAT of 511 and no connection to the state.
I suggest these schools with your stats:
TCU
Tulane
NOVA MD
Creighton
St. Louis
Loyola
Rush
Rosalind Franklin
Medical College Wisconsin
Oakland Beaumont
Wayne State
Wake Forest
Virginia Commonwealth
Eastern Virginia
Georgetown
George Washington
Drexel
Temple

Penn State
Hackensack
New York Medical College
Albany
Vermont
Quinnipiac
UC Davis
UC Irvine
UC Riverside (only if you are from that region)
California University
Loma Linda (if you fit their mission)
Belmont (when it opens)

How long have you worked as a CLS? What medical schools are closest to where you are working?

Carle: do you have a degree in engineering?

What's your non-clinical volunteering? You mention a lot in "education" so is there anything else more like food distribution, shelter volunteer (less clinical the better), employment or tax filing services, Habitat for Humanity, etc.?

Ive worked as a CLS <1 yr, but have about 1+ yr in public health/clinical laboratory. I guess the closest med school to me is UCSD, UCI.

As for Carle, I do not have an engineering degree but I have a minor in mathematics.

In terms of non clinical volunteering, I teach math to underserved children and have 100+ hours.

So a place like Rush will expect near 1000 hours of community service of the type that I described. Teaching math is really an expression of your science competency and is an activity that is overrepresented among prehealth applicants (so it's not really that impressive). Do you have any service as I had described? If not, you should consider pursuing such experiences and getting at least 150 hours by the time you apply.

I see. Thank you for the advice! I have some volunteer hours at American Red Cross, some youth mentorship programs, and food bank but not in the 150 hour range, so I will def work on that.

Is there any updates to the schools list you would make? Thanks again for the feedback, it means a lot :)
