I took the MCAT over a week ago and while I await my results I am prewriting some secondaries and was just curious if I even have a shot at MD. I know I will on the lower side in terms of GPA, but I just want to give it a try.

Non-URM, Male, CA resident, come from a disadvantaged area of the state

MD: cGPA 3.57, sGPA 3.3 (last two years 4.0)
DO: cGPA 3.57, sGPA 3.54

Extracurricular:
I have a pretty unique award and scholarship from my undergraduate institution
1 year Public health research (with presentation)
1 year psychology research
1 year biology research
Eboard for 2 organizations
Peer health educator both volunteer and paid (2 years)
Shadowing a DO (currently about 45 hours will be getting more)
Disability service note take (3 semesters)
Teaching experience through Cal-teach
A bunch of other healthcare relevant experiences

I am taking a gap year to apply and will hopefully be working as a scribe to gain more clinical experience

Current School List

MD:
California North State
Drexel
Keck
Loyola
Qunnipiac
UCD
UCI
UCR
Toledo
Wayne State

DO:
ATSU-SOMA
ACOM
AZCOM
Des Moines
Touro CA and Nevada
Western Lebanon and Pomona

Come back when you have an MCAT score, and then we can advise. But whatever the score, delete CN"u".

Are you aware that Northstate has chosen to deny their students access to federal loans and payback mechanisms?

Oh wow I thought a few students had said that the school was working to get students access to federal loans. Thank you for letting me know

The school had the option from day 1 (because of their pre-existing Pharm school) to give their students this benefit and chose not to do so.
Their first three classes have suffered this disadvantage. Even if they should change their minds (now that the LCME has investigated), what kind of investors would do this to their own students?
