Hi everyone,
I recently got my MCAT score back and was not expecting to receive such a high score and am slightly at a loss at what schools should be on my school list. I am unsure where I can apply where I won't be yield protected but also where I won't fail in regards to my EC's compared to other applicants.
I know my current list may be top heavy, and I was hoping someone could help guide me into a better higher-yield list using my background information: [I also am planning on only applying to roughly 16 schools as my budget does not quite allow for more than that].
Resident: Louisiana (no other ties elsewhere)
Stats: MCAT - 520. cGPA/sGPA - both 3.95.
Clinical Experience: 300 hours scribing in a Neurology clinic. 30 hours scribing in the ED (with 400 projected hours by matriculation)
Volunteer Experience: 60 hours working with children with disabilities. 40 hours tutoring at a public high school in my area.
Research Experience: 300 hours over the past year. I have one submitted manuscript under review where I am listed as a co-author.
Other Experience: 1800 hours working as a pharmacy clerk in a local pharmacy over 3 years. also ~300 hours in a dance group on my undergraduate campus. Greek life involvement. Honors Program.
Leadership Experience: Officer of Nu Rho Psi (Neuroscience honor society). Officer in a political-based club.
So far I have attempted to create a school list using WARS:
Louisiana State University - New Orleans
Louisiana State University - Shreveport
Tulane University
Tufts University
Albert Einstein
Dartmouth
Mayo Clinic
Baylor
Vanderbilt
NYU
Emory
Yale
Duke
Columbia
Johns Hopkins
Harvard
Any help/recommendations are greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
