PLEASE DO NOT QUOTE!

Hi, I would appreciate an honest assessment of my chances and school list, and thank you in advance for your help and feedback. I am a first time applicant, and will have one gap year. As of now my interests are leaning towards primary care, but I understand that these may change. I think I have a good focus and story for my application/PS and have many hours/longevity of both clinical and non-clinical work to talk about.

1. cGPA: 3.8, sGPA 3.65
2. MCAT: 518 (131/127/130/130)
3. State of residency: CT
4. Ethnicity/race: ORM, male
5. Undergraduate institution: Ivy
6. Clinical experience (volunteer and paid):
1. 2100 hours as an EMT, have done this activity for 5 years and have worked in several different municipalities. Will continue this through gap year. Licensed CPR instructor and also assisted with collegiate Emergency Response Team as a logistics coordinator.
2. 70 hours as a volunteer with hometown Medical Reserve Corps during COVID - assisted with vaccine clinics and mask distribution
7. Research experience and productivity: 75 hours, pilot study for community medicine program, presentation (poster only due to COVID) at medical society conference, co- author
8. Shadowing experience: 45 hours - PC, cardiology, EM
9. Non-clinical volunteering:
1. 1000 hours at a senior living facility, ongoing - I write about this extensively as it is one of my most meaningful activities
2. 100 hours clothing/food pantry
3. 45 hours at an another organization that serves seniors, ongoing
10. Other extracurricular activities:
1. I have a somewhat unique extracurricular activity and compete in collegiate and national tournaments. I am also the president of the club for this activity at my university which involves leadership, teaching, and recruitment.
2. President of my program house - responsible for house leadership, recruitment, resolving house disputes, housing finances, maintenance issues, organizing living arrangements, liaison with Res Life
3. Physics TA
11. Relevant honors or awards:
1. Community Service Scholarship for work with seniors/EMS
2. Citation from Mayor of hometown for community service work during COVID pandemic
3. Volunteer service award for EMS service in my hometown
4. Scholarship award for graduate program
12. Other: I will be doing an MPH during my gap year, while continuing my EMT work. Masters research/thesis will involve my interests in public health and senior population.

Remove Rutgers since they admit few non residents with no connection to the state. You should receive several interviews from the other schools on your list.

Good chances at most places. Might help if you get latin honors (magna or summa preferably) or PBK

I wasn't sure what was your motivation to go into medicine. From your list of activities, that was the impression it gave me.
I am definitely interested in public health, and specifically within a particular group. Don't want to say too much here for anonymity sake, but happy to talk more about my motivation via private message.
