Hello SDN! I am looking to apply to both MD and DO schools.

1. cGPA: 3.8 sGPA: 3.8
2. MCAT: 508 (126/127/127/128)

4. Asian male
5. University of Illinois
6. Clinical Experience: 1000 hours as a Medical Assistant in an neurology/pain management clinic, 1500 hours as a Medical Assistant in an internal medicine clinic, 600 hours working as a personal assistant for students living with disabilities
7. Research Experience: 3 semesters of food science research, currently performing research at clinic
8. Shadowing: 22 hours of online shadowing various specialties, 16 hours of an internal medicine/nephrologist, 15 hours with a FM NP
9. Non-clinical volunteering: 200 hours of food panty volunteering
10. 300 hours of church small group leading, playing ultimate frisbee/disc golf
11. I received a C+ the first time I took Biochem and got an A after retaking the following year.

Did you end up applying this past cycle?

I would not list online shadowing. Try to get more shadowing from within your clinic to hit 40-50 hours.

I agree with Faha’s list. Don’t list the NP shadowing though, the category is only meant for physician shadowing hours.

If you want to make the MD list more manageable, you could remove St Louis, Jefferson and UCI. They tend to go after applicants with higher MCAT scores.
