  10. Other extracurricular activities (including athletics, military service, gap year activities, leadership, teaching, etc): Resident Assistant, Orgo TA, Chinese language tutor, president of American Physician Scientist Association
  11. Anything else not listed you think might be important: Most of my app is pretty research heavy, looking to apply to research schools.
Medical School List:
  • In state: Temple, Drexel, Jefferson, Pitt, UPenn, Penn State, Geisinger
  • Out of state: Case Western, Harvard, UMich, Duke, Emory, UCLA, UCSF, Ichan, Cincinnati, Northwestern, Tufts, Rutgers (Robert Wood Johnson), Cooper, University of Virginia, Rochester, Albert Einstein, Boston University, Vanderbilt, Wake Fores, Dartmouth, Hofstra
I'm open to any feedback, especially if there are any schools on my list that don't fit the "vibe" of my stats/demographics/activities. I am also afraid my school list is too top-heavy right now, especially as an ORM. Lmk what you guys think!

What are your purpose as a physician and your mission fit?
I would like to go into academic medicine and continue some research. Looking for schools with a mission that fits that. Probably not competitive enough for service-oriented schools

Seeing you are part of the APSA, are you thinking about MSTP applications? Make sure you visit our Physician Scientist forum too. They do a WAMC there too. As long as you have a clear vision of what you would do as a PS, you would be in a good spot with MSTP.

I've considered an MSTP but decided against it for various reasons, mostly because I want most of my career to be clinical.

Remove Cooper and Rutgers since they are more IS focused.

I suggest adding:

Saint Louis
Miami
Ohio State
USF
Iowa
UMass

You're pack fodder at top 20 schools and solid everywhere else; good luck. Go 50/50 on top 20s and midtiers and add your state schools.
