Hello everyone! I'm an MS3 but a loved one of mine is applying for their first cycle and is exploring which schools are reasonable:
Non-trad, active duty Army officer (commissioned) w/long list of commendations and awards. Current role is science-related, but for Opsec I'll be vague
3.7cGPA
3.6sGPA Biochem undergraduate degree
Recent Master's in Environmental Management (4.0)
508 MCAT with 128x3 but a 124 CARS subsection
Stationed in TX so filling out the Texas app but also AMCAS.
Their goal is a good school in the southern/southeastern half of the US or TX, and I'm not really sure where their app will have luck. Their ECs and interview skills will be about as perfect as they could be, but are schools like Baylor, University of Central/South FL, North/South Carolina etc. possible with that MCAT? Is it safe to just do MD apps, or do they need to consider DO despite their relative excellence?
@Goro @gonnif @ anyone else who cares to lend a hand to a super great person. (The applicant, not me)
