Hi,

I am current applying in this cycle and wanted feed back and help with my school list.
  1. cGPA and sGPA as calculated by AMCAS or AACOMAS : 2.9 uGPA (2.5sGPA), 3.9 Grad gpa (all my classes were science classes except for an English class)
  2. MCAT score(s) and breakdown: 494-->512 ( 128-127-129-128)
  3. State of residence or country of citizenship (if non-US) : VA but with ties to NY ( grew up in NYC so my family lives there)
  4. Ethnicity and/or race : Black
  5. Undergraduate institution or category : Top 35 school in MA.
  6. Clinical experience (volunteer and non-volunteer) - Scribe in ER (1000 hrs and counting), CRC in Boston (2 yrs)
  7. Research experience and productivity - one semester of research in genetics (100hrs), one year of public health research in opioids/substance abuse (300 hrs)
  8. Shadowing experience and specialties represented - EM (100 hrs), Orthopedics (50 hrs), primary care ( 40 hrs)
  9. Non-clinical volunteering - Sexual Assault hotline ( 300 hrs and counting), tutor for ESL students (unpaid , 400 hrs), Sunday school teacher (300 hours)
  10. Other extracurricular activities (including athletics, military service, gap year activities, leadership, teaching, etc) : RA (3 yrs), Program Support for HS Medicine Program ( 1 yr), Orthopedics Surgical Scheduler/Administrative Assistant ( 6 months, 1000 hours), Pharmacy tech (8 months)
  11. Relevant honors or awards - NCAA Graduate Assistantship, undergraduate scholarship
  12. Anything else not listed you think might be important: graduated in 2016 and took the past 3 years to work on my application ( MCAT scores, gpa). I am interested in staying in VA but I am open to going anywhere in the country in the Northeast, Midwest or Southeast.
