Submitted AMCAS to 35 schools, going to submit DO tomorrow not sure whether 20 DO is enough.
NJ Resident
  • GPA and sGPA as calculated by AMCAS or AACOMAS
    1. cGPA ~ 3.3
    2. sGPA 3.0 Always been a B student
  • MCAT score(s) and breakdown
    1. 512 (130/127/127/128) Underperformed tbh, considering a mid cycle January retake. Studied a month for this, I think getting over my nerves and adding more practice should help.
    2. SAT: 2300
  • State of residence or country of citizenship (if non-US)
    1. NJ
  • Ethnicity and/or race
    1. Chineese
  • Undergraduate institution or category
    1. Berkeley
  • Clinical experience (volunteer and non-volunteer)
    1. Clinical Research:500 hr+
  • Research experience and productivity
    1. Clinical Research 500+
    2. 2nd author pub
  • Non-clinical volunteering
    1. 500hr Tutor
  • Other extracurricular activities (including athletics, military service, gap year activities, leadership, teaching, etc)
    1. E-Board member for cultural org
    2. Tutor
  • Just graduated.
What else can I add, I've basically given up on MD but I'll take any suggestions.
My DOs as of rn are:
California Health Science
Chicago College Midwestern Uni
Lake Erie COM
Lake Erie Brandenton
Edward VIA COM Virginia
Kansas City
NYIT NY and Arkansas
NOVA Southeastern
Philadelphia COM Philly and Georgia
Rocky Vista Utah
Ohio University Heritage COM
Oklahoma State COM
Michigan State COM
Rowan COM
Touro NY, CA, NV
Western University
Uni New England COM
Noorda COM

I'd be happy as hell to stay in the tristate area.
Matching back on the east coast would be dreams too

thanks!

Do you have any direct clinical experience that is not clinical research? You seem to have listed the Clinical Research with 500+ hours twice. Also for your nonclinical volunteering- who did you tutor? Usually that should be included under teaching/ tutoring. Do you have any service to the unserved/underserved in your community? Like volunteering at a homeless shelter, food bank, soup kitchen , camp for disabled or under privileged kids? Anything out of your comfort zone and off campus? Your GPAs are really low for MD. Get those DO applications in and keep working on your application in case you have to reapply. ADCOMS will want to see significant improvement on a reapplication. Good luck.
