What programs/PDs have contacted you saying "we really like you," etc, etc. For me, its mostly programs I'm not interested in, with some exceptions. Have you guys been writing back? My goal is to just compile one long list of what programs do this not who has heard from whom. Wish there was a way to make this anonymous, but I'm just sooooo curious.

You can make it confidential by starting a poll. Just list the various programs you're interested in as "choices" for the poll and people can then select that "choice" if they heard positive feedback from the school. It'd give you a nice way to keep track of the number of responses too. Just a suggestion.

But wouldn't that end up being a poll with 150+ choices? Though I guess I do have a lot of free time on my hands...

All right...because I love to procrastinate from the work I actually need to do, I'm going to jump ahead and start this.

How about we divide it up by region? I'll start the polls for New England and the Mid Atlantic. I'm just going search FREIDA and pull out the programs for those regions.

Ok, I'll admit it: Yes I'm stressed and yes, I didn't heed the warning and read the post nonetheless. Big surprise given my signature.

That out of the way, question about all these love notes. Were they solicited in some way, i.e. were they in response to an email sent saying how much you liked their program? Or, were they just out of the blue tidings saying we're thinking about you and think you're wonderful?

I can't tell which is worse: my Valentine's day or lack of sweet nothings from residency programs 😉

Hi there,
I think the call-backs are kind of PD dependent. I know a couple of PDs that would never make any phone calls and I had one program (that I hated) that called me (either the program coordinator or PD) every week in Feb until the rank list deadline. Go figure??? It was kind of creepy, actually. 😕

In the end, I filled out my rank list based on where I wanted to be and kept any programs off that I did not want to be at.
