washu's alarm clock is wierd. first i messed up on the directions and then it wouldnt cooperate afterwards so i never set up the right time and threw it in my drawer. last night it made this wierd beeping noise and it freaked me out cause i didnt know where it had come from.

I have a washu alarm clock story too. I set it to wake me up from a nap before the pizza dinner at WashU.When i got home from st louis, i threw the thing somewhere in my room and totally forgot about it. For a few weeks, i heard this beeping sound every time that i was home in the afternoon. I was never in my room when it went off but somewhere else in my apartment, so i thought it was my roommate's alarm clock. Then one day it went off when i was in my room and i was totally confused. I checked every electronic device in my room that i thought might have an alarm on it. When i finally figured out what it was, i got a good laugh.

you took the alarm clock home? i'm going there this weekend - do we get goodies to take home?! oh joy!

and you get a really nice pen. i've already used all the ink up though. anyone have an extra?😀

that pen was so sweet! i've even tried to find the same kind of pen at Staples since mine ran out! i don't know what it was about that pen, but it wrote soooo smoothly!!! everyone in my interview group was in awe.

lol, i remember the alarm clock. mine was broken so i returned it and got a new one and the new one was broken too! I gave up and kept it as a crappy memento. I hope you guys had better luck 🙂

What is the pen like? I got a nice yellow pen from somebody from Wash U once and it was great. It was smooth as silk. Is that the pen or do they really show you the goods when you interview?

Mine completely failed to operate. I would NOT rely on this alarm clock to wake you up for interviews in the morning. Bring a backup. It uses one of those large "wrist watch" type batteries -- its THAT type of alarm. Novel and cute, but not useful.

i guess the sentimental value prevents you guys from throwing it out huh? 🙂

My WashU clock is too fast. It's been gaining a minute on the real time each week and is now up to like 19 minutes ahead....

Poor me....🙁

They give you an alarm clock?? You walk into the admissions office on the morning of your interview and they say "here...have an alarm clock."? strange. strange and random. or is it the case that you stay in one of their dorm-type places, and the rooms have alarm clocks?

I though it was super funny. I thought to myself, "Is this some kind of hint, what are they implying?". Then of course the third rate piece of garbage didn't even keep the right time.

actually, for those of you who are wondering, the alarm clock that they give you is not the same one that is in every room. the one that is in the room is much better. but anyway, i figured out how to work the alarm clock last night. i was pushing the buttons with my fingers at first. then i tried a pen. it works if you use a pen to push the buttons quickly in one swift motion. it's not running fast or slow either. btw, the pen is a gel pen. im sure you can find one that writes as smoothly as it. but you might not be able to find one that looks just like it.

WOAH! I totally didn't get an alarm clock when I went!!!! My interview was earlier this week, so maybe they ran out of them......oh well. I did get that SWEET SWEET pen that you guys are raving about. It rocks.

Good luck!!!
