So I'm starting to think about what I'm going to wear to my interview. I have a black suit that fits very well and was going to wear a white shirt. When I started to think about my tie choices, I realized that I have a tie with the logo of my top choice school patterned on it (it is my state/undergrad school). At first I thought it would be a terrible gimmick, but after pondering it I'm starting to consider it as a light-hearted, casual move. Now I can't really make up my mind so naturally I turned to a forum of internet strangers to help me decide. So what do you think, go with the logo tie or just another plain one?

For clarification, this school is 120% my top choice. If they offered me a spot that day I would take it. The tie is a solid background with their logo repeating in a square pattern all over it.

EDIT: Ok, so I realize it won't actually make that much of a difference in the selection process, but I'm curious what your personal opinion is. Too cheesy or just the right amount of desperate?

I doubt that the tie you wear will matter given that it isn't offensive.

That said, personally, I would go with the plain tie. I like to go full-throttle conservative when I have to interview for anything. No unnecessary risks.
