Weeks Required for III and IV years

Our school is currently in the process of increasing the number of weeks of rotations required for graduation. Currently we're at 76 weeks, and they're talking about jumping this up to 84 weeks within the next couple of years. We've been told this is because we're "behind the curve" as far as other schools' requirements. So...how many weeks of clinical rotations are required at your school?

And for extra info...when do you start rotations?

July after completion of 2nd year...??

August...??

We start rotations at the very beginning of august or end of july after 2nd year. We havae 84 weeks of required rotations--16 of those weeks are electives and 4 weeks are a surgical selective which is a pretty broad category. The rest are all required.

We start 3rd year in May and graduate in May of 4th year.

We have a total of 88 required weeks, of the possible 104 over 2 years.

Of the 88, 56 are core clerkships, 8 are subIs and the remaining 24 are elective.

Our school is super rigid about what we can do 4th year, especially regarding international and other institution electives.

We start in July after 2nd year. There are seven six-week clerkships required in the third year (they do tracks so you go through with the same people in your track and they have the clerkships in seven different orders that you get to rank in terms of which you would prefer-1.family med then med, 2.obgyn then peds, 3.surg then surgical subspecialties, with psych thrown in somewhere: the order might be 1,3,2,free block, psych or psych, free block, 2,3,1, you get the picture). There are two four week required clerkships in fourth year(which is really just the day after you finish your third year track): neuro and med II. You put in your votes for when you would prefer to have them and they try to accomodate everyone (so someone gets stuck with it last). Then there are 16 weeks of selectives required (you get to pick one critical care type specialty, and some combination of specific medical and surgical subspecialties). Finally you need 16 weeks of electives (can be anything, anywhere, as long as you get it approved in advance). For a grand total of 82 weeks in order to graduate (with about 97 to get it done).
