As the interview season continues to move forward, we would like to provide youwith an update regarding your application to Rush Medical College.
Weekly, the Committee on Admissions reviews all complete files to determine which applicants they wish to invite to campus. While we realize your application may have been complete for some time, we appreciate your patience as we continue to consider each application we have received for admission. Rest assured we still have openings in our interview schedule, which will not come to a close until March.
We anticipate our last round of interview invitations will be extended to
applicants within the next few weeks. Due to our rolling admissions process, all candidates who are invited to campus have an equal chance of being accepted into our 2006 entering class.

Well, from our sample size of 8 it looks as if it may hold out some hope. Why inform us if you intended to do nothing with us? Right?

i got it...read it a few times...each time, it just sounded like "don't worry, we're not completely full, but we're getting there..."

not really sure what the point is though. if, after 6 months of silence, they haven't felt the need to contact us in any way, why bother contacting us now just to tell us they're going to contact us soon...?

um, yea! that is exactly what i was wondering....but i'm sure things that are much more whack than that concept could certainly be true!

I got the same email a couple of weeks ago, i think... or a month ago...can't remember for sure..

but i think it is a bulk email seeing that several of us got it, around same times... and plus, im sure there are others out there who are not reading this thread

Also got this response when asked about sending an update letter.

"Dear (#Johnny5),

In response to your email, we will accept updates to your application, however, they must be postmarked no later than February 1, 2006."

They must be wrappin something up.

i thought it was pretty nice of them to send out SOME notification, although i doubt it means much other than "we are going to string you along for a few more months until we fill our class with the ones we really want".

Rush continues to piss me off. Last year i applied and was complete in AUGUST, emailed them in november and feb about my status and got the same auto generated letter back saying my application is complete and thank you for waiting. Very rude admissions on the phone. Last years 7 page single spaced secondary (11 essays are you kidding me?) and $70 and you get pissy with me when i ask about my app over the phone??? "email inquires only! We'll try to answer them w/in 48 hours" 🙄

All that effort: longest 2ndary in history, emails, phone calls and still not even a frikkin rejection letter last year!! What a Class Act. I'm not bitter or anything though. Thankfully this year i got into my #1, so now i get to reject them (as if they cared anyway )
