COMP-NW (Lebanon, OR)
Pros- Hometown (Parents live here)
- I know lots of the community doctors
- Familiar with the main hospital
- Est for longer COMP NW 2011 vs RVU-UT 2017
- Can live for free
Cons
- Lots of Rain
RVUCOM-UT (St. George, UT)
Pros- Warmer, less rain
- Closter to Spouse's family (3-hour drive)
- Never lived here and wouldn't mind living somewhere new
- Bigger city and local hospital
- More connections and job opportunities for spouse
Cons
- For-Profit
- Parent campus hasn't been around as long as WesternU
- $1000+ rent per month
Summary: The tuition for each school is almost exact. (RVU-UT $62,080 vs COMP NW $61,898). Class sizes are similar (RVU-UT ~125 vs COMP-NW ~100) I know I would like to stay on the Western half of the US. I am interested in possibly practicing outside of primary care but not for sure. I've looked at the match list for both branch campuses and I feel like they both match up to each other. I don't know much about the core rotation sites but both schools I feel like are shadowed over by the main MD schools in their respective states. (OHSU and UofUtah) I wanted to see what all of your opinions of each school were.
