Well, I thought my luck was running out. Two nights ago I was playing soccer and got a nice cut just above my eye, ten stitches and a black eye (and my wedding is less than a month away). I got to work late this morning after sleeping through an alarm and was thinking I was going to get yelled at. Got a phone call at work and who does it turn out to be, Dean Callahan from Jefferson offering me a spot. I can't believe it, this is unreal. For all those on the Jefferson wait list, keep calling and keep writing letters. If you want to go there make them realize it, they definitely want those who want to be there. I cant believe this....ahahahaahahh

Is it typical to receive a phone call from a school whose wait list you're on? I'm sure there are others like me who would not be ready to have an immediate definite answer if I was offered acceptance on the spot.

I know its fairly common for Jefferson to call people, especially if they have had direct communication with the school. I have been emailing Dean Callahan for several months and she knew my situation, but they do call people they accept to tell them. I think its really cool that they do this, makes me think they actually care about your decision.

ps. she calls everyone to tell you you're accepted, she doesn't expect a yes or no answer, it's more of a congratulations call...

I told you 🙂 no round three!

Thanks for the words of encouragement and thanks for the congrats. Hopefully, things will work out for all of us. Best of luck to everyone.

For the rest of you on Jefferson's waitlist I withdrew my high priority waitlist spot last week so I hope that helps some of you hear sooner.

It's not uncommon in the summer for schools to make offers over the phone. Unless you're holding an acceptance somewhere else that you prefer, the immediate answer is "yes" (assuming you're not sticking around on waitlists for schools you would refuse to attend). The definite answer comes when you show up at orientation or when you notify the school that you've decided you're not going to attend.
