Hey guys I would like some advice from the people who are in a transitional/ preliminary year and have not found a spot for for second year. Any body interested for IM. How do you get a second year position if you want to go to IM or to any other field. DO YOU HAVE TO REGISTER WITH NRMP again. Or you just try to find an open position in second year and apply without registering with NRMP

    Please help---

    Hi...

not in the position you described but most people register with the NRMP to find 2nd year spots because most spots are offered in that fashion.

Other ways include talking with your current program director or the PD of the IM department at your program about spots they might be aware of, checking other sites which list open spots, and contacting programs directly.
