GPA 2.85
MCAT 28s
Lots of hospital experience <4yrs
Graduate Clinical Nutrition Degree (currently) 4.0 half done
I'm a URM and socioeconomically challenged. Looking back indefinitely worked too much in undergrad, worked two jobs including graveyard during. Got my stuff together doing my masters in clinical nutrition from New York Chiropractic College(got it from AMCAS list of programs). So far I'm 4.0 all my classes definitely upward trend. What do you guys think?

I think you need to get your gpa over a 3.0. Is this your cum gpa or sci gpa or both? MCAT looks good but what is the breakdown? Also, is possible to do a post-bac program because I don't think the nutrition program will help your case? You need to show an upward trend in the hard sciences. Was there an upward trend in your gpa? Try retaking C/D/Fs to take advantage of DO grade replacement and apply to osteopathic schools.

If your graduate degree is science based (don't know about clinical nutrition) some DO schools (like mine) will replace your undergrad gpa with your graduate school one. If you maintain your gpa my school would look at you as a 4.0 student with a 28.

so long as the grad degree is in a science field, they will replace your uGPA with gGPA?

from this thread, http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=868551 it seems like there's a grad program affiliated w/ your school that replaces the undergad and grad GPAs.

anyway, was hoping you could clarify things up a bit.

Yes to in both instances. Our school will replace uGPA with gGPA as long as it is a science degree (Have to call the admissions office to find out what that encompasses) We also have a graduate program at the graduate school of biomedical sciences that counts toward the GPA replacement. I graduated from that program with my masters before I started at the medical school.

For what it's worth a DO adcom said on AACOMAS the graduate gpa is computed together with the undergrad gpa.

What is your undergraduate degree in and what are your ECs? Black or Native American? I think you have a shot at a few MD schools and DO schools if you get your GPA above 3.0.
