Hey guys. I am an aspiring medical (MD/DO), underrepresented student (Physics Major/Maths Minor) and I have been freaking out over the fact that my undergraduate grades for sGPA has shown a downward trend! I ended up getting only 3 C+s in my upper-level physics courses (Quantum Physics, Classical Mechanics, Modern Optics), and for my first year, a C+ in BIO I my freshman year (which I have since retaken and received an A). During junior summer, I had taken a fall and fractured my ribcage which caused a lot of breathing complications along with my asthma during most of my my junior and senior year. But anyways, my trend looks like this:
F: 3.15
So: 3.79
J: 3.34
Se: 3.29
cumGPA: 3.53
If you were to just remove those three courses, my GPA would actually be great! :'C
I ended up going for a post-bacc and trying to take upper-level bio courses since I had only taken Biology, Chemistry I and II, Bio of Food courses during my undergraduate. I currently have a GPA of 3.81 (I have taken 12 courses and I have 4 more courses to take). For the most part, my post-bacc is all As and only a B+ in ORGO I (I am taking ORGO II this summer) and a B- in statistics for social sciences (I am taking biostatistics as well because this wasn't much of stats course and I don't think most medical schools would approve it as a prerequisite, so I've read).
As for ECs, shadowing, and research (2 published), I feel that I am all set. With a solid MCAT (515+), do you think I stand any chance? I do not want to lose hope but I am worried.
