Hi!
I wanted to know what are may chances to get a residency in G. Surgery.
I'm an US resident IMG, 33 y/o. I finished my pediatric surgery residency and after that urology fellow in my country. I moved to US for personal reasons and decided to start all over again. I know the road ahead is hard for me, but I hope I could work as a surgeon or even better pediatric surgeon. My scores step 1 234/95 and step 2 229/93. Although I know the scores are not bad is the only thing I have. I don?t have any LOR from US, I don?t have any medical experience in US. So I was wondering if someone could help me with some guidance and where to apply.
Thank you in advance.

Please, any suggestion?

Scour the internet looking at the CVs of surgeons with a similar background to yours, then contact them for advice. They will be able to offer first-hand knowledge of "how to do it." If you are not willing to do this...

Wait...you did a residency in general surgery, THEN a pediatric surgery fellowship, THEN a pediatric urology fellowship? Wow.

Thank you, guys.
Blade, in my country Pediatric surgery is a 5 years first level residency; you don't have to do 5 years of General surgery and then a fellow in ped surg like in US. In the first year of your residency they send you to rotate in General surgery and the rest in ped surg (I don?t agree with that schedule). After my residency I completed 1 year fellow in ped urology. Anyway, I don't think anybody cares about my previous experience in foreigner country.

I know my question could sound so repetitive, redundant and posted in this forum millons of times but I'm kind of new here and I guess we should have a FAQ section with links to those posts.
Thanks
