So I have an overall GPA of 3.3. I rowed for a DI program for two years, quit to focus on school and my grades went soaring. My junior year I got a 3.6, my senior year it was a 3.86 with a 4.0 my last quarter with 4 upperdivision sciences and an upper division history. I did research for 2 years, one at a biotech company and one in ochem at my undergrad institution. I also volunteered as an EMT for over a year, shadowed physicians and have seriously kick ass LOR. I thought maybe since my GPA went up a ton my last two years, I would have a chance. Just go the MCAT back: 10 in PS, 8 in V, 9 in BS and Q in WS. I went down 9 points since my last practice test and I'm really scared about not wanting to do it again. I'm a TN state resident. Please Help!!!

I'm sorry to hear that you are disappointed in your mcat score, but I really don't think hope is lost. You have an upward trend in gpa, and great ECs, LORs. I have basically the same exact stats as you do - 3.3 amcas gpa (3.4 aacomas), and 27O (same breakdown as u!). I applied to 3 MD programs, and 8 DO. I'm not sure if you are interested in DO, but I have gotten interviews at two DO schools so far, and they didnt even have my recs yet! I also got secondaries from the 3 md programs. I think you def have a shot at your state md school. And, consider DO, if you haven't already.
