Just curious :)
is it NYU > USC > MWU in order?

Upenn has gotta be in there somewhere. Tuition alone is about 61k/year. Pretty darn expensive.

61k is not the best lol.

UNLV is about 120k/year.
Loma is about 85k/year.

UPenn is indeed expensive. Tuition is >60000, but the total costs (including living in Philly) is >85,000 dollars

SIU is pretty expensive. $79,200ish for just tuition

According to the 08-09 ADA survey of tuition, fees, tools, etc for *All four years*

For in state residents:
1) USC - 282k
2) UPenn - 264k
3) Pacific - 254k
4) Tufts - 247k
5) NYU - 235k
6) Boston - 232k
7) Detroit-Mercy - 225k
8) Case western - 221k
9) Columbia - 218k
10) Loma Linda - 210k

These don't include interest and living expenses. Includes everything else though.

Out of state:
1) Medical U of South Carolina - 359k (Impossible to get into anyway...)
2) Ohio State - 318k
3) Univ. Illinois, Chicago - 313k
4) USC - 282k
5) UPenn - 264k
6) Pacific - 254k
7) Nebraska - 248k
8) Tufts - 247k
9) Univ Missouri, KC - 240k
10) Minnesota - 236k

You realize that 79200 is out of state right?

Yes. Majority of applicants are pretty much out-of-state for each school, so that's the price that matters most. That, and I'm out-of-state, so that's the number I care about.

wow...dental schools are very expensive :(
I wonder if we can actually earn enough money to pay back loans.

Income based repayment if all else fails.

15% of your gross a year for 25 years, then whatever is left gets forgiven.

This is good if you decide to attend an expensive private school and decide to be a general dentist in an over-saturated area.

Remember UoP is a three year school.

You also have to remember its in Pacific Heights area and in San Francisco, one of the, if not, most expensive city to live in. Plus UOP is still super expensive.

when i interviewed at USC in 2008 the cost for tuition, fees, and instruments was 100k per year without living expenses, so unless they have decreased the cost (highly unlikely) then the ADA survey is full of it.

Total cost of tuition, fees, and equipment for:

UOP $305,311
http://dental.pacific.edu/Academic_...nd_Fees/Estimating_Your_Attendance_Costs.html

USC $288,233
http://dentistry.usc.edu/doctoral.aspx?id=912&linkidentifier=id&itemid=912&menu_id=258

NYU $278,579
http://www.nyu.edu/dental/financialservices/tuitionfeesexpensesdds.html

These totals don't include cost of living. These schools are so expensive.

For USC it is about $4,000 more because I didn't include the health insurance because I have my own health insurance provided by my wife.

I thought I would update the cost of these 3 schools. The numbers posted in this thread don't match the official numbers that are posted on their web sites.

On a side note, please note that the TOTAL cost of attendance is not 400K...

If you take loans (stafford, grad plus etc. for an average of 7.4% interest unsubsidized) for all 400K your total 20 year payback will total $988, 510.81 with a total monthly payment of $4,118.80.

Props to Bereno for his sweet spreadsheet!!

Wonderful pdf file. Everyone should take a look. NYU takes top honors again...
