What being a COMPETITIVE dental school means

When you hear someone say "X Dental School is competitive," without any other context, which meaning of the word first occurs to you?

This was always my understanding:
Competitive refers to how much the students compete for the top grades.
Selective refers to how hard it is to get into the school

What being a COMPETITIVE dental school means

When I hear "X Dental School is competitive," my first thought is:

Competitive as in harder to get into when applying

Competitive as in more cut-throat once you are in the class

Competitive in another sense of the word
